Well, this is certainly something I haven’t seen before. The Kyocera E5000 clamshell does not have a conventional flip mechanism: it’s got a unique S-curve hinge that’ll instantly grab your attention.

All you need is a phone that has both a camera and a browser. Most people have the former, not so many people have the latter. Still, the ads look better if you make your signup email an MMS, with multimedia touches and, preferably, a video.

One main concern has been the idea of the mobile phone as an ad-free zone. The possibility of ads for fast food and, more to the point, Viagra blaring on mobile screens, in voicemail boxes, and along SMS Inboxes scares the wits out of many users.
